So what happened when we arrived in the UK?

We landed in England at about 4:45 pm (due to the delay in leaving Vancouver), cleared immigration, got out bags, hailed a taxi, arrived at our friends apartment at about 7:00 pm. We were met by neighbours of our colleagues and welcomed to the apartment which they had turned on the heat for us.

Interestingly, all of our colleagues were out of town and unable to greet us but we did have a beautiful welcome basket all ready for us.

We had a hard time getting to sleep the first night and had to take some medications that made us drowsy. We slept until noon and then went grocery shopping at Sainsbury. It was about a 5 minute walk from the apartment. Len, of course, wanted to see everything and Mary wanted to get in and out - par for the course.

Sunday Len was up early so he put the chicken, potatoes and carrots in the crock pot for dinner. Mary slept until noon again. It was wonderful to wake up to some great smells from the kitchen. We had some quiet time and worship and then played games and watched a couple of DVD's.

Monday we were up early and caught the train to Crawley where we had to pick up our 3 year visa cards (BRP). We had to ask some questions but it was fairly simple. We then had lunch at "Wimpy's". Home on the train and back to the UK International TeachBeyond office for some e-mails and updates.
